The Role
The Vice President, PMO will report to the SVP, Product and Technology Transformation and Operations for the CTO’s Organization which includes Security, Technology, Engineering, Product and Network (STEPN), and is responsible for leading strategic planning, governance, and execution of Lumen-wide initiatives being delivered from the STEPN organization. In this role, you will ensure the seamless alignment between business objectives and program delivery, driving operational excellence, innovation, and organizational transformation. You will lead a high-performing PMO team, manage a strategic project portfolio, implement robust governance frameworks, and serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership in advancing key transformation efforts.
The Main Responsibilities
- Lead the centralized PMO to deliver Lumen wide initiatives and programs.
- Establish and govern PMO frameworks, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality execution across all programs.
- Drive strategic planning and execution of digital transformation, cloud migration, and infrastructure modernization programs.
- Provide executive-level reporting and business intelligence, including KPIs, OKRs, and dashboards that track performance, risks, and dependencies.
- Partner with STEPN leadership team to prioritize initiatives, allocate resources, and manage cross-functional dependencies.
- Support M&A due diligence and integration from a technology perspective, collaborating with corporate strategy and mass markets.
- Champion continuous improvement, fostering a high-performance culture that embraces agile delivery, innovation, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, partners, and regulatory bodies, to ensure successful program outcomes.
- Develop and deliver executive communications, including board-level presentations, strategic updates, and briefings.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in technology program management or PMO.
- Proven track record of leading enterprise PMOs or large-scale transformation programs in a technology-driven environment.
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, cloud technologies, and digital innovation.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Experience in a publicly traded, global technology or telecommunications company is highly desirable.
- Expertise in agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery models; PMP, SAFE, or similar certifications are a plus.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven track record of driving execution in complex, matrixed organizations.
Compensation
Base: $207,022 - $280,000
